Microsoft has dropped the Windows 11 build 28020.1362 (KB5073095) in the Canary Channel, which includes several new features already available in the Dev and Beta Channels, along with fixes.
According to the official changelog, build 28020.1362 for Windows 11 brings the Xbox Full Screen Experience (FSE) for all PCs, ships dark mode improvements for File Explorer, and revamps the Click to Do context menu.
Additionally, this preview introduces Windows Studio Effects for external cameras, and the desktop version of the Spotlight feature gains new options.
Finally, this build introduces an updated version of the Settings app with an AI agent, a new Mobile Devices settings page, adds an option to disable the Drag Tray feature, and replaces the “For Developers” page with the “Advanced” settings page. The Home page now includes an updated Game Pass card with new information, and the new OneDrive icon is rolling out for the “Accounts” and “Home” pages.
Furthermore, the update KB5073095 rolls out a new default configuration for the Quick Machine Recovery (QMR) feature.
What’s new on Windows 11 build 28020.1362
These are the most significant changes being rolled out in the latest preview of Windows 11 for the Canary Channel:
Xbox Full Screen Experience for PCs
Starting with build 28020.1362, Microsoft is bringing the Xbox Full Screen Experience to regular computers, so you no longer need workarounds to enable the feature or purchase a new handheld device to access it.
The FSE feature transforms the traditional Windows 11 desktop into a controller-friendly, console-like interface. The primary goal is to strip away the complexities and resource overhead of a standard desktop operating system, offering a streamlined, dedicated gaming environment.
When you enable this feature, the device won’t load the standard Windows Explorer shell and suppress unnecessary background processes. The company says the full-screen experience can free up approximately 2GB of system memory.

Once you enable the feature from Settings > Gaming > Full screen experience, you can access the experience from Task View, Game Bar settings, or use “Windows key + F11” hotkey to toggle FSE.
In addition to installing this preview build, the company also notes that not only is this feature rolling out gradually, but you also have to be registered in the Xbox Insiders program.
The development team is also pushing several fixes and changes in the preview build that is available on the Canary Channel.
Click to Do new actions menu
In this release, Microsoft is also updating the Click to Do actions menu to more closely match the design of the File Explorer context menu, with inline options for Copy, Save, Share, and Open, as well as the Copilot prompt box and content-specific features.

Also, if a large image or table is available on the screen, the context menu will open automatically to make it easier to select an action.
AI agent arrives in Settings
Starting with update KB5073095, the Settings app includes a new AI agent for Copilot+ PCs that helps you find and change settings more quickly.

If you want to test the feature, you can ask questions like “How do I control my PC by voice?” or “My mouse pointer is too small.”
In addition, the “Recommended settings” card on the Home page now shows inline agent action for recently modified settings, and the search results menu now shows more results with a scroll bar for easier navigation.
Studio Effects on more cameras
Although the Windows Studio Effects have been available for some time, they’re limited to certain cameras. Starting with build 28020.1362, Microsoft is expanding support for more camera models and brands.
In some Copilot+ PCs, the company is adding the ability to use the AI effects with secondary cameras, such as USB webcams and built-in rear cameras.
To enable Studio Effects on additional cameras on Copilot+ PCs, open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Cameras, select the other camera (such as a USB webcam), and then click the “Edit” button for the “Advanced camera options” setting. On the settings page, turn on the “Use Windows Studio Effects” feature.

Disable the Drag Tray feature
In this release, on Settings > System > Nearby sharing, you’ll find a new option to disable the Drag Tray feature.

Furthermore, with the release of the update KB5073095, Drag Tray now supports multi-file sharing, shows more relevant apps, and makes it easy to transfer files to another folder.
File Explorer new dark mode improvements
In this release, Microsoft continues its work to improve the dark mode system in File Explorer, and in this update, you’ll find more elements using the dark color scheme, including default and expanded states for copy, move, and delete dialogs, progress bars and chart views, dialogs for confirming states (such as skip, override, and file selection), and multiple confirmation and erro dialogs.

Also, on Copilot+ PCs, File Explorer updates the Search box placeholder text to make it clear the capabilities of the search experience. For example, “Try describing an image or file.”
Finally, on the Home page, when you hover over a file, a new inline menu will appear with options such as “Open file location” and “Ask Copilot.”
Mobile Device settings
Although you have been able to manage mobile device settings in the Settings app, this action required you to open a separate page outside the experience.

However, with this update, Microsoft is adding an option to connect your mobile devices directly from the “Mobile devices” page.

Desktop Spotlight new options
When Windows Spotlight is set as your desktop background, the context menu now includes options such as “Explorer background” and “Next desktop background.”

The Explorer background option opens the web browser to the page with more information about the current background, while the Next desktop background sets a different wallpaper.
Game Pass card updated for Settings
In the Home page of the Settings app, the Game Pass card description has been updated to reflect the new branding and benefits.

Keyboard and text cursor in Settings
Starting with the update KB5073095, the Settings app ports more features from Control Panel, including character repeat delay and rate, and cursor blink rate, which you can now configure from Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Keyboard.

Cursor blink rate is available through Settings > Accessibility > Text cursor.

Windows 11 now enables the AltGr layer on the Arabic 101 keyboard, letting the right Alt key access extra symbols, including the new Saudi Riyal sign (AltGr+S). The symbol is also available on the touch keyboard and expressive input panels. Language switching shortcuts remain unchanged, and the Arabic 102 and 102 AZERTY layouts receive the same update.
Quick Machine Recovery changes
On devices with the “Quick Machine Recovery” and “Automatically check for solutions” settings enabled, the feature will now run a one‑time scan by default, rather than running scans in a loop.

If a resolution to the problem isn’t available right away, you won’t be left waiting. Quick Machine Recovery will list the most appropriate recovery options.
Virtual Workspaces in the Settings app
Virtual Workspaces can now be enabled through Settings > System > Advanced. This feature lets you toggle virtual environments, such as Hyper-V, Virtual Machine Platform, Windows Hypervisor Platform, Windows Sandbox, and others.

- Narrator: Fixed abrupt, random pauses during continuous reading in Word documents.
- Windows Update: Fixed issues where “Update and shutdown” might not shut down the computer and where some users could see error 0x8007042B when upgrading to Canary from recent 24H2 or 25H2 builds.
- Task Manager: Fixed an issue where Task Manager wouldn’t fully close and would keep running additional background processes, sometimes causing it to appear unexpectedly on boot.
- Other: Fixed issues where some apps could become unresponsive when opening the Open and Save dialog, and where interacting with the desktop could unexpectedly invoke Task View.
Microsoft has not noted any known issue with this particular build.
