Microsoft has released Windows 11 build 26300.7674 as the update KB5074170 for version 25H2 through the Dev Channels of the Windows Insider Program. This preview introduces fixes and some changes, as there are no new features.
According to the company, the “Windows 11 Insider Preview Quality Update (26300.7674)” rolls out fixes for File Explorer, Start menu, Search, Settings, Graphics, and more.
At the same time, the company also notes known issues with the Start menu, File Explorer, the Xbox Full Screen Experience for PCs, the Taskbar, and Click to Do.
Microsoft also notes that this preview build jumps to the 26300 series build in preparation for the next wave of features and changes coming to the operating system. This means that starting January 27, 2026, the period to switch from the Dev to the Beta Channel has closed.

- File Explorer: Resolved an issue where the “Extract All” option failed to appear in the command bar when viewing non‑ZIP archive folders.
- Start menu: Fixed a problem where clicking “hide this pane” in the mobile device side panel didn’t correctly open the setting to hide it.
- Search: Corrected an issue where the Search process displayed an icon with an X instead of the magnifying glass.
- Settings: Implemented underlying improvements to reduce cases where the Settings Home page loaded very slowly.
- Graphics: Fixed a bug causing secondary monitors to render incorrectly and show black screens after recent updates.

- Start menu: A new issue is being addressed where, in Categories view, selecting the option to show more apps within a category may fail to respond.
- File Explorer: Microsoft is also working on a new underlying problem that can cause all open File Explorer windows and tabs to suddenly jump to the Desktop or Home.
- Xbox Full Screen experience for PC: Some apps may behave unpredictably when using FSE, especially those that rely on fixed window sizes or open additional windows.
- Taskbar: A fix is in progress for a problem where certain apps fail to appear in the system tray for some Insiders.
- Click to Do: Work continues on resolving an issue where the Microsoft 365 Copilot prompt box on selected images doesn’t function unless the Microsoft 365 Copilot app is already running.
