Microsoft is releasing Windows 11 build 28020.1546 (KB5077230) to the Canary Channel, delivering another incremental update with new features and visual changes.
According to the official changelog, “Windows 11 Insider Preview Quality Update (28020.1619)” ships Cross Device Resume, Narrator with the ability to personalize announcements, Windows Hello support for external devices, Voicy Typing with “Wait time before acting” feature, changes for Voice Access, and the Settings AI agent is now expanding to more languages.
What’s new on Windows 11 build 28020.1619
Microsoft’s official changelog in the latest preview of Windows 11 confirms.
Android app resume on Windows 11
Starting with build 28020.1619, Windows 11 is also expanding the ability to resume Android apps on your computer from the Taskbar. You can, for example, resume Spotify playback, work in Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, or continue a browsing session.
Microsoft also notes that Vivo phone users can continue browsing from Vivo Browser on their computer.
The feature works by turning on the “Allow this PC to access your mobile devices” option in the “Manage Devices” settings, under Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Mobile devices, to connect your PC with your Android phone.
Furthermore, if you use a phone from HONOR, OPPO, Samsung, Vivo, or Xiaomi, you can resume online files that you opened in the Microsoft Copilot app on your phone and continue working on them on your computer.
When the feature is turned on, you can start using an app on your Android phone, and then you’ll receive a “Resume alert” notification in the Taskbar that allows you to launch the Spotify app on your computer to resume the same track or anything else you were listening.

If the app isn’t available on your computer, you’ll see the option to install it from the Microsoft Store.
Of course, this feature works only if your Android phone is already set up on your computer in the “Mobile devices” settings.
It’s important to note that this feature is rolling out slowly, and it’s up to developers to build this functionality into their apps.
Narrator improvements
Windows 11 now lets you fully customize how Narrator speaks information when navigating apps. You can choose which properties (such as labels, roles, states, or values) are announced and in what order, giving you control over the sequence of information for buttons, checkboxes, sliders, links, and text fields.

For instance, you can have a “Submit” button announced as “Button, Submit” instead of the default “Submit, button,” or omit the state of a checkbox entirely.
To personalize announcements, press the “Narrator key + Ctrl + P” shortcut, then select, deselect, or reorder the properties for each control type. On Copilot+ PCs, a natural language box allows faster adjustments, such as typing “Don’t announce selection or position info.”
You can preview your changes before saving and revert to defaults at any time. These settings apply to the selected control type across the app, helping make Narrator clearer, more predictable, and aligned with your navigation preferences.
Windows Hello with external fingerprint sensors support
Until now, the Windows Hello Enhanced Sign-in Security (ESS) experience has only supported built-in biometric sensors. However, starting with the update KB5077230, you can now connect and configure any supported Windows Hello ESS fingerprint reader from the “Sign-in options” settings page.

Voice Typing improvements
You can now customize how quickly your voice commands are executed. The new “Wait time before acting” setting lets you adjust the delay between speaking and action. It helps Voice Typing better match your rhythm, resulting in more accurate recognition.

Options include Instant, Very Short, Short, Medium, Long, Extended, and Very Long.
Voice Access changes
A simpler setup makes it easier to start using Voice Access. The new flow will walk you through downloading a speech model for your language, choosing the microphone you want to use, and learning how Voice Access can help you control your device.
Redesigned SCOOBE page
The Second Chance Out-of-Box Experience is the page you typically see after updating or, randomly, after signing in to your account to configure additional features, such as backing up your data to the cloud, changing your browser settings to Microsoft’s recommendations, and importing your browsing data into Microsoft Edge.

The page has now been updated to streamline the setup to a single page, rather than multiple pages, to configure these changes. You can always disable the SCCOBE from the Settings app.
Settings agent language expansion
In addition to the current languages, English (en-gb, en-us) and French (fr-fr, fr-ca), the Settings AI agent is also expanding to these languages: German (de-de), Portuguese (pt-br, pt-pt), Spanish (es-es, es-mx), Korean (ko-kr), Japanese (ja-jp), Hindi (hi-in), Italian (it-it), and Chinese Simplified (zh-cn).
Other details
It’s important to clarify that Windows 11 26H1 is not a feature update for existing devices. The software giant has explicitly confirmed that version 26H1 is not an upgrade path for computers running Windows 11 25H2 or any earlier release.
This release is designed exclusively for new ARM64 hardware and will ship only on next-generation computers, starting with devices powered by Snapdragon X2 Plus, Elite, and Extreme processors. Systems based on Intel or AMD platforms will never receive Windows 11 26H1 through Windows Update or any other supported upgrade channel.
Preview build download
To download and install this Windows 11 build, enroll your devices in the Canary Channel through the “Windows Insider Program” settings from the “Update & Security” section. Once you enroll the computer in the program, you can download the build from the “Windows Update” settings by turning on the “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” option and clicking the “Check for Updates” button.
