- Windows 11 25H2 is expected to introduce a new “Shared audio” feature that allows you to play sound through two output devices simultaneously.
- You’ll be able to turn on the feature from the Quick Settings panel, although it’s still under internal testing and not yet publicly available.
Microsoft appears to be working on a new “Shared audio” feature for Windows 11 25H2 that will allow you to play audio through multiple output devices.
The feature is still in internal testing, and it’s not yet available for testing. However, the feature has already been discovered (@PhantomOfEarth) inside the latest preview build of Windows 11 available through the Dev and Beta Channels.
The “Shared audio” toggle appears in the Quick Settings flyout, allowing you to select up to two audio devices for simultaneous playback. This feature could improve multitasking or group listening experiences, especially when switching between speakers and Bluetooth headphones.

While this is a native capability being built into Windows 11 25H2, some OEMs like MSI already offer similar features through audio suites like Nahimic, which enables users to share audio to two Bluetooth devices.
Additionally, there are third-party tools, such as VoiceMeeter and Audio Router. However, these are advanced tools that may not be suited for regular users.
Since this feature is still not official, it’s unclear how exactly it will work. We don’t know if the company will build customization settings through the Settings app. If you have to connect the different output devices directly to the computer, or if this feature is only compatible with Bluetooth devices.
Microsoft is still in the early stages of Windows 11 25H2, and the company hasn’t shared any information about the new features. However, recent preview builds of the operating system include a redesigned Start menu with a simplified layout and an option to turn off the “Recommended” section.
As part of the next feature update, the operating system will introduce the new “Administrator protection” feature to add another layer of security to run untrusted or unsigned apps elevated.
The company is also working on changes for the app dialog, and the passkeys feature is getting support from third-party providers, among other features and changes.
Windows 11 25H2 is still in development, and Microsoft has not officially confirmed this feature. Therefore, availability and functionality may change before its public release.
