- Microsoft is updating the About settings app with a new structure that also removes the top cards for key technical specifications.
On Windows 11, the About page in the Settings app is getting an overhaul that removes recent changes, such as the ability to display key technical specifications, and improves the existing structure of the page.
The new changes are available with the release of Windows 11 builds 26220.6982 and 26120.6982 in the Dev and Beta Channels.
First, on Settings > System > About, you’ll notice that the cards at the top of the page show key technical specifications, such as storage, graphics, memory, and processor, which is now gone.

Now, the page starts with the “This device” section, which shows a thumbnail of the desktop with the computer name and an option to rename the device.
The “Device specifications” section is now known as “Device info,” which continues to show the same basic technical specifications as before without the storage or graphics information.
Also, the “Frequently Asked Questions” section has now been renamed to “Device insights,” and it’s a separate section from “Device info.”

Then, under the “This operating system” section, you’ll find the “Windows specifications” information with all the same details as before.

Finally, under the “Related” section, Microsoft is adding an entry point to access the “Storage” settings.

It’s worth noting that these changes are still in the works through the Windows Insider Program, so it’s unclear when they will become available for everyone.
