As you know Microsoft has removed Windows Media Center from Windows 8 and the software giant already said that they will be charging extra for the feature. However, today the company is making available Media Center for free and for short period.
Anyone interested can get Windows 8 Feature Pack, which includes Media Center, from the new Windows page.
This Microsoft’s offer will run from October 26, 2012, until January 31, 2013. It is only for Windows 8 Pro users and you can get only one license per email address.
When you visit the page you’ll find this: “If your PC is running Windows 8 Pro and you’d like to get Windows 8 Media Center Pack so you can watch and record live TV with Windows Media Center, you can take advantage of the following special offer,” and “For a limited time, get Windows 8 Media Center Pack for free.”
