Today is Patch Tuesday, February 2014, and Microsoft is announcing that will be releasing a total of four critical and three important updates for Windows 8.1, Internet Explorer, and various products including Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, and server products.
The four critical updates are patches for Internet Explorer and VBScript, and to address vulnerabilities in Windows and Security Software; while the remaining three updates for February’s Patch Tuesday will address issues in .NET Framework and Windows.
Microsoft has yet to release specifics about each updates, as such expect more details after 10AM PST, which is when the company officially releases the next batch of updates.
Today, February 11th, Microsoft will also be releasing another Xbox One update automatically, and users can expect improvements system-wide, plus a few new features such as storage management, dashboard battery life indicator, and a couple more changes.
Update: Correction, although Microsoft will release an Xbox One update, it won’t happen today. Larry Hryb, Xbox Live’s Major Nelson, tweeted this morning that the team still working on finalizing the update, but it will be released later this week.
FYI: The February #XboxOne System Update will ship this week, but not today. The team is working on finalizing. More details when I get them
