Skype mobile app gets design makeover (again)

Skype is still alive and is getting a design update with new colors and features.

Microsoft is rolling out an updated version of Skype even though Microsoft Teams has been the preferred communication service for a long time. The new update for the mobile app reveals a new interface design and features.

According to the company announcement, the makeover focuses on colors. The new version of Skype introduces new light and dark themes with new color palettes and is now “more accessible to everyone with updated accessibility color themes.”

The interface for video calls has been updated to match the desktop app, and the company says there are improvements in call stability and performance.

Also, you can do group video calls with up to 100 people for up to 24 hours daily.

Microsoft is also adding a new tab known as “Today,” which brings personalized articles and news stories from across the web without a subscription, similar to the Widgets board on Windows 11.

Furthermore, the new Skype mobile app brings live audio translation for Skype to Skype call to overcome language barriers. The exciting part about this feature is that it uses AI to translate the audio using your natural voice for a more seamless experience.

The app also includes a barcode to help share your profile with other people.

If you thought that Skype was going away, you were wrong. The update is available now for Android and iOS devices.
