These are the new features and fixes rolling out for Windows 11 in the  Beta and Dev Channels.

Voice Typing with new filter

Starting with this release, the context menu for Voice Typing will include a toggle switch to filter improper words. When the feature is turned on, it marks those words with asterisks, and when it’s off, words are spelled out.

The Accessibility flyout menu has been updated to show features by categories, such as vision, hearing, motor, and mobility, to make the menu easier to use.

Other fixes and changes

These updates also come with several fixes and changes, including:

  • General – Addressed issues causing blank apps after updates and a non-functional Windows Recovery Environment and its “Fix problems using Windows Update” option.
  • Click to Do – Resolved a problem where images used in Click to Do actions remained stuck in the temporary folder on Copilot+ PCs.
  • Login and Lock – Fixed an issue preventing Windows Hello Face from working for some Insiders after recent updates.
  • Input – Corrected problems where changing symbol pages on the touch keyboard could unexpectedly insert characters in password fields, and toggling the Japanese touch keyboard could block input.
  • Settings – Adjusted the corner radius display when hovering over cards on the “About” settings page.
  • Other – Resolved issues preventing Quick Assist from working for non-admin users and causing certain apps to fail to open due to a missing virtual machine component, as well as fixing a bug that could lead to USB devices disconnecting after sleep until reboot.

Finally, Microsoft is noting some known issues during installation, Xbox Controllers, Recall, Click to Do, Windows Search, and Task Manager.

Also, administrators can now allow users to unpin specific pinned apps for fixes and changes, making sure that they are not pinned again during the next policy refresh cycle.

Other fixes include:

  • File Explorer – Fixed an issue causing File Explorer to crash when tapping the View button with touch.
  • Windows Spotlight – Resolved a problem where the “learn more” flyout for Windows Spotlight desktop backgrounds could get stuck above other application windows.
  • Input – Corrected an issue where pressing the page change key in the Symbols section of the touch keyboard might unexpectedly insert a character into password fields.
  • Settings – Fixed an issue where hovering over the cards at the top of System > About did not display the correct corner radius.

In this release, Microsoft only notes a known issue with Xbox Controllers.

Installation process

To download and install this Windows 11 build, enroll your device in the Beta and Dev Channel through the “Windows Insider Program” settings from the “Update & Security” section.
