  • To change ChatGPT’s accent color, open your account settings, click on “General,” select “Accent color,” and choose from blue, green, yellow, pink, or orange. This works on the web and desktop apps for Windows 11 and 10.

If you use ChatGPT in your daily routine, starting with version 5 and higher releases, it’s possible to change the accent color for a more personal experience, and in this guide, I’ll explain the steps to complete this configuration.

Alongside the reasoning improvements that come with ChatGPT 5, OpenAI is also adding some new settings, including an option to customize the experience when using the chatbot to make it feel a little more personal.

If you had enough of the black and gray color scheme, ChatGPT now allows you to change the color scheme to five new colors, including blue, green, yellow, pink, and orange.

In this guide, I’ll outline the easy steps to change the accent color of ChatGPT, whether you’re using the chatbot app on Windows 11, 10, or the web version of the AI.

To change the color scheme of your ChatGPT account, follow these steps:

  1. Open your ChatGPT account.

  2. Click on your profile and select the Settings option.

Once you complete the steps, the chatbot will now reflect the color scheme of different elements when submitting a prompt and interacting with the AI. You can always use the “Default” option to revert to the gray color scheme.

Originally, when ChatGPT 5 began rolling out to users, OpenAI was reserving a couple of the colors for paid subscribers, but since then, it appears that the company noticed that limiting this feature wasn’t necessary.

If you want to further customize your experience with the chatbot, you can change your settings to prevent OpenAI from using your data for AI training, and you can free up memory storage to make room for new personalized data.
