Build 26220.7859 (KB5077223) for Windows 11 25H2 adds visual changes and fixes (Beta)

Microsoft pushes a small update to Windows 11 25H2 with new visual changes, fixes, and improvements.

Microsoft has released Windows 11 build 26220.7859 as the update KB5077223 for version 25H2 through the Beta Channel of the Windows Insider Program. This preview introduces one new feature, fixes, and some improvements.

In addition, the company is also rolling out Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26220.7755 (KB5077223) in the Beta Channel with the same chances as those availble in the Beta Channel.

According to the company, the “Windows 11 Insider Preview Quality Update (26220.7859)” introduces a new option to upgrade your Microsoft 365 plan from the Accounts page, as well as fixes and improvements for Taskbar, File Explorer, Settings, and more.

Although this article lists the changes for version 25H2, Windows 11 still shows 25H2 as the version number. However, eventually, the version number will change to 25H2.

What’s new on Windows 11 build 26220.7859

Subscribers with a Microsoft 365 Family plan will see an option on the “Accounts” page in the Settings app to upgrade to another Microsoft 365 subscription. If you prefer not to see this prompt, you can disable it by turning off suggested content in Settings.

  • Taskbar: Improved reliability of displaying app icons in the system tray when the taskbar is set to autohide.
  • File Explorer: Fixed an issue where all open File Explorer windows and tabs could unexpectedly jump to Desktop or Home.
  • Nearby Sharing: Improved reliability when sending larger files using Nearby Sharing.
  • Settings: Improved reliability when configuring options in Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Wheel.

The official note doesn’t reveal any known issue with this release.

To download and install this Windows 11 build, enroll your Betaices in the Beta Channel through the “Windows Insider Program” settings from the “Update & Security” section. Once you enroll the computer in the program, you can download the build from the “Windows Update” settings by turning on the “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” option and clicking the “Check for Updates” button.
