Microsoft is quietly giving one of Windows 11’s more dated Settings pages a visual makeover. A hidden change on Windows 11 build 26340.9354 reveals a redesigned Temporary Files settings page that looks more consistent with the rest of the operating system.
The change is another piece of the company’s ongoing Windows K2 initiative, which focuses on improving the performance, reliability, and overall quality of Windows 11. Microsoft has already been using K2 to address several long-standing areas of the operating system (such as the Taskbar and Start menu), and this latest discovery shows the work also extends to smaller parts of the Settings experience.
The redesign spotted by @PhantomOfEarth is hidden behind RejuvenateTempFilesMainPage using the ViveTool code 61456288 and isn’t enabled by default.
A cleaner Temporary Files experience
The Temporary Files page hasn’t changed much visually since the beginning, even as the company has continued updating other parts of the Settings app.
The new design addresses that with a cleaner, more modern layout. The different cleanup options are presented in a way that feels more consistent with the current Windows 11 design language.

This is primarily a visual refresh, rather than a completely new storage-management feature. The purpose of the page remains the same. You can review temporary data stored on the computer and select the categories you want to delete to free up space.
The difference is that the experience now looks like it belongs in the experience.
Microsoft is still testing the redesign
The only caveat is that the updated Temporary Files page is currently hidden in build 26340.9354, which is part of Microsoft’s Experimental testing through the Windows Insider Program.

That means the interface isn’t ready for everyone, and Microsoft could change or axe it before making the redesign available to the general public.
It’s also too early to say whether this exact design will ship with Windows 11 26H2. However, the hidden changes also suggest that Microsoft’s Windows K2 work isn’t limited to major features. The company is also cleaning up smaller inconsistencies that have accumulated throughout Windows 11.
Pureinfotech’s take
This is a welcome change, especially as part of Microsoft’s broader Windows K2 effort to improve the quality and consistency of Windows 11. However, the company still has plenty of work to do to modernize the Settings app.
Would you like Microsoft to modernize more Windows 11 Settings pages?

Even within the Storage section, several pages and sections still feel like they belong to Windows 10. “Other people,” “Show more categories,” “Storage used on other drives,” and “Where new content is saved” could all benefit from the same attention.
So, while the Temporary Files redesign is a step in the right direction, I hope Microsoft doesn’t stop here. If K2 is about improving the overall quality of Windows 11, bringing more of these inconsistent Settings experiences up to the current design should be part of that work too.
