Microsoft rolls out update KB4015438 for devices running the Windows 10 Anniversary Update (version 1607). The new update doesn’t include new features or improvements, instead it’s an update that addresses a few issues that appeared with KB4013429, which the company rolled out in its last Patch Tuesday.
KB4015438 bumps the version number of Windows 10 to build 14393.969, and delivers two specific fixes to address a problem that prevented Windows DVD Player from working correctly and a networking problem using Switch Embedded Teaming.
New changes on Windows 10 build 14393.969
Microsoft has announced KB4015438 in its support site, and it’s referred as “March 20, 2017—KB4015438 (OS Build 14393.969)”, and as with any other cumulative update this new release doesn’t include new features.
- Fixed a known issue with KB4013429 that caused Windows DVD Player (and 3rd party apps that use Microsoft MPEG-2 handling libraries) to crash.
- Addressed a known issue with KB4013429 where some customers using Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10 1607 Client with Switch Embedded Teaming (SET) enabled might experience a deadlock or when changing the physical adapter’s link speed property. This issue is most commonly seen as a DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION or when verifier is enabled a VRF_STACKPTR_ERROR is seen in the Memory dump.
How to download March 2017 Update for Windows 10
Windows 10 build 14393.969 (KB4015438) for PC is available immediately. The new update will download and install automatically, but you can always force the update from Settings > Update & security > Windows Update and clicking the Check for updates button.
