These are the latest changes that Microsoft has been working on for Windows 11 25H2.
Click to Do Selection Modes
In this lease for version 25H2, Windows 11 is getting an updated version of Click to Do that adds new controls known as “Selection Modes,” including Freeform Selection, Rectangle Selection, and Ctrl + Click, to make it easier to select parts of what’s on the screen.

- Freeform Selection: This mode allows you to use your finger or pen to draw around the items you want to select.
- Rectangle Selection: This mode creates a rectangle selection.
- Ctrl + Click: Hold down the “Ctrl” key and click on each item to select multiple entities across types, including text, images, and more.
File Explorer context menu update
In this release, Microsoft is also updating the context menu, more specifically, the “Open with” submenu, to remove colored backplates from icons.

Other fixes and changes
In addition to the new features and improvements, Windows 11 build 26200.5751 also ships various fixes, including:
- Taskbar: Resolved a bug where enabling additional clocks caused duplicate entries in the date and time tooltip, and apps pinned to the Taskbar should no longer be unpinned. Also, when hovering over an app with multiple instances open, you will now notice a new animation.
- Start menu: Addressed multiple issues, including temporary layout shrinkage (six vs. eight columns), failure to open in Safe Mode, misaligned context menus, and visibility problems with the “Hide this pane” option when using custom accent colors.
- File Explorer: Corrected color rendering in dark mode, low disk space indicators were too light, and remaining space was shown in black instead of a more visible hue.
- Lock Screen: Fixed blank icons for login options and improved lock screen stability by resolving underlying hang-related issues.
- Live Captions: Fixed crashes occurring during live translation on Copilot+ PCs.
- Click to Do: Addressed a problem with text and image actions crashing the feature.
- Others: Resolved increased DWM crash rates and fixed screen interaction issues caused by repositioned hardware indicators overlapping active areas.
