Build 26220.8575 for Windows 11 adds update system changes and fixes (Beta)

  • Windows 11 build 26220.8575 (Beta) for version 25H2 introduces Windows Update changes to block automatic updates indefinitely and fixes.
  • The Experimental channel for versions 25H2 or Future Platforms doesn’t receive any preview build.
  • Windows 11 26H1 receives build 28020.2236 in the new Beta experience and build 28120.2242 in the Experimental experience.

Microsoft has released the Windows 11 Insider Preview Quality Update (26220.8575) for version 25H2 via the Beta experience in the Windows Insider Program. This flight introduces improvements to existing features, along with various fixes.

According to the official notes, Windows 11 build 26220.8575 introduces the ability to pause updates an unlimited number of times via the Windows Update page.

Also, this preview rolls out fixes for audio not working correctly, reliability issues navigating to the “Installed Apps” page, and system freezes when using Windows Search, Notepad, and other scenarios. 

Microsoft notes that it is not releasing any updates for versions 25H2 or Future Platforms in the Experimental channel. 

In addition, the company is rolling out the Windows 11 Insider Preview Quality Update (28020.2236) to the new Beta experience for version 26H1, with general improvements.

Also, in the Experimental channel for version 26H1, the company is rolling out Windows 11 build 28120.2242 with general improvements and the ability to turn on “Administrator Protection” from Settings > Privacy & security > Windows Security > Account protection.

Download Windows 11 update 26220.8575

To download and install these Windows 11 builds, enroll your Devices in the Experimental or Beta Channels through the “Windows Insider Program” settings from the “Update & Security” section. Once you enroll the computer in the program, you can download the build from the “Windows Update” settings by turning on the “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” option and clicking the “Check for Updates” button.

Alternatively, you can also download the ISO files from the Windows Insider Preview Downloads page. Specific preview builds are available for a limited time only.
