Microsoft has released Windows 11 Insider Preview build 28020.2546 for version 26H1 via the Experimental channel in the Windows Insider Program. These flights introduce improvements for existing features similar to those changes available in the Beta channel for version 26H2.
According to the official notes (Experimental), Windows 11 build 28020.2546 introduces some undisclosed general improvements and fixes to improve the overall experience.
As part of the changes for build 28020.2546, Microsoft is making braille displays easier to use by adding support for devices that follow the HID (Human Interface Device) standard.
Users can now connect compatible refreshable braille displays through USB and start using Narrator without installing additional drivers or completing extra setup steps.
For wireless use, HID-compatible braille displays can be paired through Settings > Bluetooth & devices, allowing users to work without being connected to a computer by cable.
Supported devices include Orbit Reader 20, Orbit Slate 340, Freedom Scientific Focus 40, and APH Mantis Q40. HID braille displays also now work during the initial Windows setup experience (OOBE) over USB, helping users who are deaf-blind configure a new device independently from the first screen.
In addition, network administrators can now configure Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Windows 365 sessions that use Microsoft Entra ID (RDS AAD Auth) authentication to automatically disconnect when a redirected smart card is removed.
Other fixes
In addition, Windows 11 builds 28020.2546 also push several fixes and improvements.
- Voice Access: Added support for Portuguese (Portugal), Portuguese (Brazil), and Korean (South Korea) languages.
- Settings: Improved Bluetooth quick settings navigation with gamepad input support and fixed a crash affecting the Graphics settings page.
- Sounds: Improved system sound behavior when using Windows in dark mode.
