How to change SkyDrive root folder to another location in Windows 8.1

Microsoft SkyDrive folder location option

When Microsoft released Windows 8.1 Preview one of the changes included a fully integration of SkyDrive. Users finally didn’t have to download and install a separate piece of software to sync or fetch documents from the Microsoft’s cloud service.

One of the complaints, though, was that there wasn’t an option to move the SkyDrive root folder to another location or to another hard drive. Microsoft said it was aware of the problem, but didn’t specify when this issue for many was going to get fixed.

Fast forwarding to the recently leaked version of Windows 8.1, SkyDrive is showing some changes in build 9471 users can go to This PC, right-click SkyDrive, Properties, and from the Location tab now it is possible to change the location of SkyDrive root folder. This can be on another folder, drive, or a network folder.
