Starting with the Chromium version of Microsoft Edge includes the ability to create multiple profiles.
A profile is meant to allow you to share the web browser with other users without them interfering with information. Every profile you add keeps all the info separate, such as history, favorites, passwords, and other settings.
In addition, support for profiles is a handy feature when you want to use different Microsoft accounts and you want to keep your things, such as personal and work, separate.
How to add a new profile on Microsoft Edge
To create a new profile on the Chromium version of Microsoft Edge, use these steps:
Open Microsoft Edge.
Click the Settings and More (three-dotted) button on the top-right corner.
Select the Settings option.
Click on Profiles.
Click the Add profile button on the top-right.
Select a name for the profile. For example, if you’re creating a profile to keep your things separate, you can use a name like “Work”.
Select an image to identify the profile.
Click the Add button.
Once you complete the steps, the new profile will open as an entirely different process, which can include its own settings, bookmarks, history, passwords, and cookies.
You can always repeat the instructions outlined above to create additional profiles.
While we’re focusing this guide on Windows 10, you can also use these steps to create additional Microsoft Edge profiles for Windows 8.1, Windows 7, and macOS.
