- To enable the new Feature Flags settings page on Windows 11, you have to (ironically) use ViveTool.
- Open Command Prompt as administrator, navigate to the ViveTool folder, and run the
vivetool /enable /id:60911173command.
Microsoft is building a new Feature Flags settings page to enable experimental features on Windows 11 preview builds, and you can enable this page now in the latest preview (build 26220.8148) available through the Beta Channel.
Currently, users with devices enrolled in the Windows Insider Program need to rely on unofficial tools like ViveTool to unlock hidden features. The problem is that this approach requires command-line knowledge and carries risks, including system instability and unintended changes.
However, the company will soon add a new page in the Settings app that lets users enable experimental features without requiring third-party tools, such as ViveTool. Ironically, for now, if you want to access the “Feature Flags” page, you can use a specific ViveTool code (via @XenoPanther) to enable the feature on your device.
In this guide, I’ll outline the steps to manually enable the new settings page for experimental features on your Windows 11 setup.
Enable new Feature Flags settings on Windows 11
To enable the new Feature Flags page on Windows 11, install build 26220.8148 (KB5079491) manually, and then follow these steps:
-
-
Download the ViveTool-vx.x.x.zip file to enable the new Feature Flags settings page.
-
Double-click the zip folder to open it with File Explorer.
-
Click the Extract all button.

-
Click the Extract button.
-
Copy the path to the folder.
-
Open Start.
-
Search for Command Prompt, right-click the top result, and select the Run as administrator option.
-
Type the following command to navigate to the ViveTool folder and press Enter:
cd c:\folder\path\ViveTool-v0.x.x
In the command, remember to change the path to the folder with your path.
-
Type the following command to enable the Feature Flags page and press Enter:
vivetool /enable /id:60911173
-
Restart the computer.
Once you complete the steps, the new “Feature Flags” page will be available from the “Windows Insider Program” section of the Settings app. However, since the feature is still a work in progress, you’ll only be able to access the page. You won’t be able to enable or disable any specific features.

The page will also read that these features are still in development and may change. Turning them on or off could affect the performance or stability
warning.
