Here are the steps to try an early preview of the new customization settings for Suggested actions on Windows 11.

Windows 11 Suggested actions settings
Windows 11 Suggested actions settings

On Windows 11 build 25295, you can enable an early preview of Suggested actions settings that allow you to customize the suggestions you will receive when using this feature.

For example, by default, when the Suggested actions feature is enabled and you select a specific type of content, the system will provide different quick actions. In the case you select a phone number, the flyout would suggest making the call with Microsoft Teams or other apps. Or coping a date or time will suggest creating a calendar event, and when you choose the app, the event will create with all the information already filled in.

In the past, you were only able to enable or disable the feature. However, starting with build 25295, you can turn on or off individual settings to decide the type of content you want to receive suggestions. In addition, the feature can now suggest actions for addresses.

If you want to get hands-on with the new feature, you can use a third-party tool called “ViveTool” created by Rafael Rivera and Lucas on GitHub, to enable the option on your computer.

This guide will teach you the steps to turn on this new feature on Windows 11.

  9. Type the following command to navigate to the ViveTool folder and press Enter:

In the command, remember to change the path to the folder with your path.

    vivetool /enable /id:41058795
    vivetool /enable /id:42623125
  11. Restart the computer.

Once you complete the steps, the next time you select content, on Settings > System > Clipboard, the “Suggested actions” setting will include options to enable or disable suggestions for “Phone number,” “Date and time,” and “Address.”

If you change your mind, you can revert the changes with the same instructions, but on step 10, make sure to use these commands: vivetool /disable /id:41058795 and vivetool /disable /id:42623125 and then restart the computer.
