On January 9, 2024, Microsoft begins the rollout of the update KB5034122 for Windows 10 22H2 and version 21H2. The first Patch Tuesday update of the year introduces various security fixes and continues the deployment of Copilot for Windows 10.

According to the announcement from the official website, the update KB5034122 bumps the version number to build 19044.3930 (21H2) and 19045.3930 (22H2), addresses a shutdown issue after 60 seconds when using a smart card to authenticate on a remote system and a problem that affects the display of a smart card icon.

The company notes that this update continues the rollout for fixes and improvements previously available with the preview update KB5033372, released on December 12, 2023.

Also, Copilot continues to expand through the Microsoft Controlled Feature Rollout (CFR) on Windows 10 Pro and Home (version 22H2) devices. However, the chatbot won’t be available for managed devices, nor will it be available for Windows 10 Enterprise and Education editions.

If you prefer manually installing the November 2023 update for version 22H2 or 21H2, download it from the Microsoft Update Catalog website.
