How to remove the bottom-right watermark on Windows 11 (Insider builds)

I’ve always found the Windows 11 watermark on Insider builds distracting, especially when I’m testing new features or taking screenshots for a guide. While the operating system doesn’t offer an official way to remove it, I found a workaround that isn’t perfect, but it hides the watermark without modifying system files or relying on third-party tools.

The trick uses an older accessibility setting that removes desktop background images. There is a trade-off, though. Enabling the option prevents you from setting a wallpaper manually. However, you can still use certain themes to restore a desktop background while keeping the watermark hidden.

Hide the bottom-right watermark on Windows 11

To get rid of the Windows 11 watermark from the bottom-right corner of the desktop on Insider builds, follow these steps:

1. Open Start on Windows 11.

2. Search for Control Panel and click the result to open the app.

3. Click on Ease of Access.

   

4. Click on Ease of Access Center.

5. Click the “Make the computer easier to see” setting.

6. Check the “Remove background images (when available)” option.

   

7. Click the Apply button.

8. Click the OK button.

9. Open Settings.

10. Click on Personalization.

11. Click the Themes page on the right side.

12. Select the theme you want to use on your desktop without the watermark.

    

Once you complete the steps, the desktop will replace the current wallpaper with a black background that no longer shows the Windows 11 watermark. In the “Themes” settings, not all themes will work because of the system changes we made. However, in my case, Glow, Capture Motion, Sunrise, and Flow let you set a desktop background without the watermark.

Also, while the accessibility option is turned on, you won’t be able to set background images manually.
