How to set Lock screen wallpaper using Microsoft Launcher on Android

You can now set a custom wallpaper or Bing images in Lock screen of your Android phone using Microsoft Launcher, and here's how to do it.

On Android, the Microsoft Launcher app is perhaps the best alternative to the default launcher to customize your phone experience. However, early releases included limited options to customize the Lock screen appearance and depending on the variant of the operating system, it was difficult to set a custom wallpaper in the Lock screen.

Now, the launcher has matured, and among other features, it’s now possible to customize the Lock screen as well as the Home screen wallpaper any way you like. Using the latest version, you can choose to set a single custom wallpaper in the Lock screen, Bing images that change every morning, or you can even set a custom slideshow that rotates every day.

In this guide, you’ll learn the steps to set a custom or daily wallpaper on your Android phone using Microsoft Launcher.

How to set Lock screen wallpaper with Bing images using Microsoft Launcher

If you want to display the beautiful Bing daily wallpapers on your Android Lock screen, then follow these steps:

  1. Open Microsoft Launcher settings. (Press and hold the home screen and tap on Launcher Settings.)

  2. Tap on Change wallpaper.

  3. Tap on Select a wallpaper.

  4. Under “Choose a slideshow,” tab on Bing.

  5. Select the Home screen and Lock screen option.

  6. Tab the Apply slideshow button.

    Quick Tip: Using the same settings page, you can choose to only show Bing wallpapers in the home screen too.

Once you’ve completed the steps, the lock screen and home screen of your Android phone will refresh every day with same image using Bing daily wallpapers.

At any time, you can use the same steps, and tab the Stop slideshow button on step No. 6 to prevent the lock screen and home screen from changing the current look.

How to set lock screen wallpaper with custom slideshow using Microsoft Launcher

If you want to display a slideshow of custom images on the Lock screen of your Android phone using Microsoft Launcher, then do the following:

  1. Open Microsoft Launcher settings. (Press and hold the home screen and tap on Launcher Settings.)

  2. Tap on Change wallpaper.

  3. Tap on Select a wallpaper.

  4. Under “Choose a slideshow,” tab on Gallery.

  5. Tap the Add image option.

  6. Select up to 30 images.

  7. Select the Home screen and Lock screen option.

  8. Tab the Apply slideshow button.

After completing the steps, the images you selected will rotate every day on your lock and home screen.

At any time, you can use the same steps, and tab the Stop slideshow button on step No. 5 to prevent the lock screen and home screen from changing the current look.

How to set lock screen single wallpaper using Microsoft Launcher

Using Microsoft Launcher is now super simple to set a custom wallpaper in the Lock screen of your Android phone, just follow these steps:

  1. Open Microsoft Launcher settings. (Press and hold the home screen and tap on Launcher Settings.)

  2. Tap on Change wallpaper.

  3. Under “Choose a single wallpaper,” select a location to change your Lock screen image.

  4. Select the image you want in your Lock screen.

  5. Tap the Select image button.

  6. Select where to apply the wallpaper:

    • Home screen and Lock screen.
    • Home screen only.
    • Lock screen only.
  7. Tap the Apply button.

Once you’ve completed the steps, the Lock screen will display your custom image.

If you want to change the wallpaper in the Lock screen, you’ll need to be running Android 7.0 (7.1.1 preferable) or later, and you must be using the latest release of Microsoft Launcher.
