  • To show the full location path on File Explorer, you have to enable the “Display the full path in the title bar” settings on the “Folder Options” page.

UPDATED 12/2/24: On Windows 11 (and 10), the address bar of File Explorer displays part of the path to the current location using the label of the drive and folders (for example, This PC > Local Disk (C:) > Users > Documents), instead of the full logical path (for example, C:\Users\username\Documents).

The experience uses this view to make the path more user-friendly and easier to navigate. You can also use the right arrows to navigate parts of related locations. Although you can’t disable this behavior, if you prefer to see the actual path of the current location, File Explorer includes an option to show the full path in the title bar.

In this guide, I will teach you the steps to show the actual full path of the current location in the title bar of File Explorer on Windows 10 as well as on Windows 11.
