Microsoft has released firmware updates for its Surface Laptop 2 and Surface Laptop (1st Gen) to improve reliability with Surface Dock 2 and touch and pen issues.
The firmware updates have a release date of July 17, they’re both identical, and they’re available for devices running Windows 10 version 1903 or later.
Surface Laptop 2 and 1st Gen firmware update
- Surface – Extension – 18.104.22.168: Resolves Touch & Pen issues after Windows update on 1903 or higher.
- Surface – Firmware – 22.214.171.124: Improves Surface Dock 2 reliability during Wake On LAN scenarios and improves the overall stability.
- Surface – Extension – 126.96.36.199: Improves Surface Dock 2 reliability during Wake On LAN scenarios and improves the overall stability.
- Surface – System – 188.8.131.52: Improves Surface Dock 2 reliability during authentication scenarios.
The update should download and install automatically, but if you have not received it, then you get it from Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and try to force the download manually.
