The Surface Pro X variants with the custom Microsoft SQ2 and SQ1 processors are now getting new updates to improve system stability and resolve several problems with the devices.
According to the Microsoft update history page, the system updates were originally released on February 16. They are available for devices running Windows 10 version 2004 and higher, and they improve system stability and merges support for various Qualcomm parts for both Surface devices.
Surface Pro X February 2021 update history
Here are the improvements available for the SQ2 and SQ1 tablets in February 2021:
- Qualcomm Bus Device – System devices 1.0.1220.0: Improves system stability and merges support for the SQ1 and SQ2 devices.
- Qualcomm Hexagon 690 DSP – System devices 1.0.1260.0: Improves system stability and merges support for the SQ1 and SQ2 devices.
- Qualcomm System Manager Device – System devices 1.0.1120.0 and 1.0.1160.0: Improves system stability and merges support for both the SQ1 and SQ2 devices.
- Qualcomm System Manager Device – System devices 1.0.1220.0 and 1.0.1280.0: Improves system stability and merges support for the SQ1 and SQ2 devices.
- Qualcomm USBC UCSI Participant – System devices 2.9.139.0: Improves system stability and merges support for the SQ1 and SQ2 devices.
- Qualcomm Wi-Fi B/G/N/AC (2×2) Svc – Network adapters 1.0.1260.0: Improves Wi-Fi stability.
- Surface Hot Plug – System devices 3.71.139.0: Improves system stability and addresses system Blue Screen of Death (BSoD).
- the CDSP Subsystem – Extension 1.0.1160.0: Improves integration between system services.
- the Power Engine Plug-in Device – System devices 1.0.1260.0: Improves system stability and merges support for the SQ1 and SQ2 devices.
- Surface Serial Hub Driver – System devices 9.53.139.0: Improves system stability and addresses BSoD.
- Surface System Telemetry Driver – System devices 2.34.137.0: Eases power and thermal related data analysis.
- Surface UEFI – Firmware 7.545.140.0: Improves system stability.
The update should download and install automatically, but you go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and try to force the download manually if you have not received it.
