Surface Pro 4 and Pro 3 receive September 2018 firmware update

Older versions of Surface Pro get new firmware to improve battery life and security.

Microsoft is now pushing new firmware updates for its Surface Pro 4 and Surface Pro 3. These releases are just minor updates to improve the overall experience of these devices.

The firmware updates are dated September 10, and they are available for devices running Windows 10 version 1703 or later to improve battery and security.

Surface Pro 4 firmware

Here are all the new fixes and improvements in this new Surface Pro 4 update:

  • Marvell AVASTAR Bluetooth Radio Adapter: 15.68.9125.57 improves system security.
  • Marvell AVASTAR Wireless-AC Network Controller: 15.68.9125.57 improves system security.
  • Surface UEFI: 108.2318.769.0 improves battery stability for devices not in use.
  • Surface Embedded Controller Firmware: 103.2241.256.0 improves battery stability for devices not in use.
  • Surface Integration: 1.0.176.0 improves battery stability for devices not in use

Surface Pro 3 firmware

Here are all the new fixes and improvements in this new Surface Pro 3 update:

  • Surface UEFI: 3.11.2550.0 improves battery stability for devices not in use.
  • Surface Embedded Controller Firmware: 38.14.80.0 improves battery stability for devices not in use.
  • Surface Integration: 2.0.1350.0 improves battery stability for devices not in use.

The update should download and install automatically, but if you have not received it on your Surface, then you can go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and try to force the download manually.
