Microsoft surprises Insiders once again by releasing Windows 10 build 10162 to the Fast ring of updates. The new preview becomes available only two days after the company rolled out build 10159 and only three days of pushing build 10158 to the Fast ring.
The software giant points out that because there aren’t any more known issues, every build it works on will technically pass the criteria to roll out to Insiders. “We’re focused at this point on bug fixing and final polish, so it’s much easier for each build to get all the way through than earlier in the cycle when we’re adding big new features.”
Now, it’s clear that we’re going to keep seeing more builds coming almost constantly, but the company says that it’s still deciding “how long to let each build stay with Windows Insiders so you can really exercise them and send feedback on any problems that you’re hitting.”
While Windows 10 build 10158 was the preview that showed the most changes since Windows 10 build 10130, according to Microsoft this is another good preview that includes better reliability and performance, battery life, and compatibility improvements.
It has also been pointed out that Windows 10 build 10162 is a good candidate to roll out to the Slow ring, that is of course, no new issues appear during the Fast ring time. Making Windows 10 build 10162 available through the Slow ring means that we can also expect the ISO files for download, so that users don’t have to resort to file sharing and torrent sites to download the ISO files for build 10162.
