How to change File Explorer to open ‘This PC’ instead of ‘Quick Access’ on Windows 10

Here are the instructions to change the File Explorer settings to open by default "This PC" instead of "Quick Access" on Windows 10.

Change File Explorer from Quick Access to This PC

When you open the File Explorer on Windows 10, now it opens the Quick Access (Home) view, instead of the This PC (Computer) as we got accustomed. However, the software maker received a lot feedback requesting to have the option to change it back to open This PC.

As a result, Microsoft has included an option starting build 9926 and you can choose to open This PC when clicking File Explorer. Follow the steps below:

How to force File Explorer open ‘This PC’ on Windows 10

  1. Use the Windows key + E to open File Explorer

  2. If you don’t see the ribbon menu, click the arrow in the top-right corner of the window to expand the menu. Open View and click Options.
