Windows 11 build 23565 breaks Copilot in Dev Channel

Microsoft releases a new preview of Windows 11 in the Dev Channel with fixes and problems with Copilot.

Windows 11 build 23565 is now available for computers in the Dev Channel of the Windows Insider Program. In this release, the software giant is making available fixes and improvements for existing features.

Build 23565 for Windows 11, according to the official changes, adds the new Copilot icon to the Taskbar. Microsoft is also warning this flight the Copilot feature may disappear from the Taskbar. You can use these instructions to access Copilot until the company offers a permanent fix. Also, when launching or refreshing the chatbot while using voice access, you will have to use “Show grid” commands to click in the “Ask me anything” box.

In addition, Windows 11 build 23565 rolls out fixes to improve File Explorer reliability and freezing problems with the OneDrive folder. Also, in the Gallery view, when the file manager has to load a lot of images, you will now see a loading state instead of a state where the Gallery may seem empty.

It’s important to note that Microsoft is still in the process of gradually rolling out Copilot, and it’s currently only available as a preview in North America, the United Kingdom, and parts of Asia and South America. If you want to download and install the Windows 11 build 23565, enroll your device in the Dev Channel using the “Windows Insider Program” settings from the “Windows Update” section.

Once you enroll the computer in the program, you can download build 23565 from the “Windows Update” settings by clicking the “Check for Updates” button. However, you will need a device that meets the minimum system requirements to receive the update if you are new to the Windows Insider Program.
