The Windows Store gets quietly rebranded to the “Microsoft Store” on Windows 10. On a new update is currently available in the Release Preview ring of the Windows Insider Program for the Store app shows a new name and logo for the app.
Aside from the shopping bag logo includes the color version of the Microsoft logo and the new name, the Store to download apps, games, music, videos, and books continues to be the same as the previous version on Windows 10.
The new Microsoft Store naming that matches both the online and physical store could be a signal that Microsoft might be planning to offer customers other products. Perhaps even the ability to purchase devices and accessories alongside the digital goods.
Microsoft has yet to officially announced the rebranding for the Store on Windows 10, but seeing the new update is available in the Release Preview (via The Verge), it’s likely that the company will soon be rolling out the change to everyone.
