Windows Terminal, the new app experience to run Command Prompt, PowerShell, and Linux on Windows 10, is getting new features and improvements with version 0.10.
Starting with version 0.10, according to Microsoft, the Windows Terminal now supports mouse input in Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) applications as well as Windows applications that use virtual terminal (VT) input. In other words, on apps like Midnight Commander will recognize when you click on items in the window. In the case that the app is in mouse mode, you can hold down shift to make a selection instead of sending VT input.
Also, as part of the settings update, it’s now possible to open a new pane with a duplicate profile of the pane that is in focus. You can do this by adding "splitMode": "duplicate" to the "splitPane" command list in your key bindings.
The key binding will duplicate the profile, but you can add other options such as "commandline", "index", "startingDirectory", and "tabTitle".
