Microsoft finally releases the awaited February Xbox One system update. Previously the company was supposed to push the update during the last Patch Tuesday early this week, but Microsoft’s Xbox Live Larry Haryb tweeted out that the Xbox team had to delay the Xbox One update a few more days.
Well, today is the day and as I wrote earlier Microsoft is adding a few interesting features such as:
- Disk space management: Now users will able to manage the store space in the console. Currently Xbox One automatically manage the storage and users will only get an alert when you’re running out of space.
- Control installs: Xbox One February update brings the ability to control the install lineup and you can also control your download queue more easily.
- Tweaks: Microsoft is reporting that now My Games and My Apps are two separate lists, that way you can create separate queues. Now you can choose the order in which you want your content to load and there is a new “boot progress indicator so you can better track updates while the load.”
- Battery indicator: For some reason Microsoft removed the battery power indicator for Xbox One, but due to feedbacks the software giant is bringing it back. The new battery power indicator sits in the lower-right side of the home screen, next to the clock and it will allow you to easily track how much battery life is left on your Xbox One controller.
- USB keyboard: Finally the last addition in this February update is the ability for you to use your USB keyboard with your Xbox One.
Alongside these new features, the February’s Xbox One update delivers “lots of behind-the-scenes updates for developers building apps and games” and expect improvements on the “quality of Kinect voice so commands become more fluid and responsive”.
