Microsoft is now in the process of rolling out the Windows 11 build 27909 in the Canary Channel of the Windows Insider Program. This is a small update that fixes a problem with the battery percentage indicator as well as other problems with the operating system.
According to the official changes, build 27909 errors 0xC0000142 or 0xC0000045 when using Administrator Protection with the Xbox app.
The company also notes that the battery percentage option should now appear in the “Power & battery” settings page, as this wasn’t the case in the preview builds.
If you have a Copilot+ PC or another ARM-based computer, this update fixes graphical distortion and rendering issues when using remote desktop.
Furthermore, this preview resolves crashes with pcasvc.dll, which is a system file that provides the core functionality for the Program Compatibility Assistant service.
Additionally, you will find a fix for the disconnect issue with the Media Player cast feature and the failure of the Remote Credential Guard feature.
As part of the known issues for Windows 11 build 27909, the company notes Windows Hello issues coming from other channels, bugchecks with KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE after upgrading, and you will continue to hear the Windows Vista startup sound in this build.
Finally, the development team is working to resolve a crash issue with the Settings app when loading the “Power & battery” page, as well as the issue of random characters appearing in text settings.
