Mobile Device settings

Although you have been able to control the mobile device settings from the Settings app, this action required you to open a secondary page detached from the experience.

Other fixes and changes

In addition to the new features and improvements, Windows 11 builds 26220.6972 and 26120.6972 ship various fixes, including:

  • File Explorer: Fixed a Catastrophic Error (0x8000FFFF) that could occur when extracting large (1.5GB+) archive files, and resolved a bug where an old white toolbar might randomly appear.
  • Graphics: Addressed a recent issue causing red tinting in videos and games, fixed stuck onscreen content when background apps updated, and improved monitor mode queries to reduce stuttering on high-resolution displays.
  • Windows Update: Fixed an issue that could cause update installations to fail with error 0x800f0983.
  • Other: Resolved an Outlook hang when credential prompts became unresponsive, fixed Remote Credential Guard failures between Windows 11 and Server 2022 (or earlier), and addressed a bug causing print preview to freeze in Chromium-based browsers.

Microsoft also notes known issues with these updates, including:

  • Taskbar: Preview animations have been temporarily disabled due to interference with window sharing. Microsoft is also working to resolve a bug that prevents the Start menu from opening on click for some devices, although it remains accessible through the Windows key. (This may also affect the Notification Center.)
  • Gaming: Some devices using Xbox controllers through Bluetooth are encountering bugchecks.
  • File Explorer: In dark mode, the copy dialog may flash when toggling details, and scaled text can cause the scrollbar and footer to disappear, leaving a white block.
  • General: Text actions using Phi Silica in Click to Do and Recall are currently broken in this build.
