- The new Shared Audio feature on Windows 11 lets you wirelessly share your computer’s audio with another person using Bluetooth LE Audio.
- It allows concurrent playback on two compatible Bluetooth devices, such as headphones or speakers.
Microsoft is currently working on a new feature called “Shared Audio,” which allows you to share audio from your computer through Bluetooth LE Audio broadcast technology with another person.
The feature is officially available for testing with the release of Windows 11 builds 26220.7051 and 26120.7051 for versions 25H2 and 24H2 in the Dev and Beta Channels, where the company is also rolling out a new Copilot search for the Taskbar and expanding the Xbox Full Screen Experience to more handheld devices.
Shared Audio is possible thanks to Bluetooth Low Energy Audio broadcast technology, which supports concurrent playback with two compatible output devices, such as headphones, speakers, or hearing aids.
Although users typically listen to audio from a single output device, Shared Audio on Windows 11 lets you share the audio stream when playing music, watching movies, or studying.
Share audio to different outputs on Windows 11
If you want to share audio between multiple output devices, first connect the supported Bluetooth audio output devices to the computer, and then open the “Quick Settings” (Windows key + A) menu, select the “Shared audio” page, select the output devices, and then click the “Share” button.
