Microsoft may have moved on from the iconic Windows 10 “Hero” wallpaper, but fans clearly haven’t. A new concept shared on Reddit brings that classic design back with a modern Windows 11 twist, and it’s the kind of visual refresh many users didn’t know they needed.

The original Windows 10 “Hero” wallpaper is one of the most recognizable visuals in Microsoft’s history, known for its glowing blue light beams and depth. This fan-made version keeps that identity intact but adapts it to fit the cleaner, flatter aesthetic of Windows 11.
