How to add notebooks from multiple accounts in OneNote

OneNote allows you to use multiple accounts to access all your notes from one place, and here's how to complete the task.

On Windows 10, if you manage multiple accounts, such as for personal use, school, or work, you can add them to OneNote to access all your notebooks and notes from one place.

In this guide, you’ll learn the steps to add multiple accounts and different notebooks to OneNote.

Add new account to OneNote

To add a new personal, school, or work account to OneNote, use these steps:

  1. Open OneNote on Windows 10.

  2. Click the Settings and More (three-dotted) button in the top-right.

  3. Click on Settings.

  4. Click on Accounts.

  5. Click the Add account option.

  6. Select the Microsoft account or Work or school account option depending on the account you want to add.

  7. Click the Continue option.

  8. Confirm the email address of the account.

  9. Click the Next button.

  10. Confirm the account password.

  11. Click the Sign in button.

  12. Click the OK button.

Once you complete the steps, the new account will be added, and you can proceed to add more notebooks in OneNote. You may need to repeat the steps to add more accounts.

To add a notebook from a different account to OneNote, use these steps:

  1. Open OneNote.

  2. Click the Show Notebooks button from the left pane.

  3. Click the Notebook menu in the top-left and select the More Notebooks option.

  4. Check the notebook from the other account.

After you complete the steps, you can start using the notebooks.

Remove notebook from OneNote

To remove a notebook, use these steps:

  1. Open OneNote.

  2. Click the Show Notebooks button from the left pane.

  3. Click the Notebook menu.

  4. Right-click the notebook in the top-left and select the Close This Notebook option.

Once you complete the steps, the notebook will close and you can add it back at any time.

Remove account from OneNote

To remove an account from OneNote, use these steps:

  1. Open OneNote.

  2. Click the Settings and More (three-dotted) button in the top right.

  3. Click on Settings.

  4. Click on Accounts.

  5. Select the account and click the Sign out option.

Once you complete the steps, the account and its notebooks will no longer be able on your device.
