On August Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners will get four new games for free through the Games with Gold program. On July, Microsoft announced that Xbox One owners will be getting an additional free game every month as part of the Gold program. Now delivering on that promise, on August Xbox One gamers are getting two free games.
In the month of August, Xbox Live Gold members will be able to download Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes for free (regular price $19.99). Then from August 16th and until September 15th, members will get How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition for free (regular price $19.99).
Xbox 360 owners with an Xbox Live Gold membership will get Metro 2033 (regular price $19.99) for free from August 1st and until August 15th. Finally, on August 16th, Gold members can download Metro: Last Night for three until the end of the month (regular price $19.99).
In addition to the Games with Gold program, Microsoft recently made available a new Xbox One console featuring 1TB hard drive to let you keep expanding your game library, and the new Xbox One Wireless controller with a standard headphone jack for $399.99. Also, the company announced that Xbox One backwards compatibility with Xbox 360 games is coming later this fall, which is just another reason to get an Xbox One, while Preview members can already test this feature.
Keep in mind that you need an Xbox Live Gold membership to take advantage of Microsoft’s Games with Gold program. If you don’t have a subscription there are always good deals in Amazon, and if you have an Xbox 360 running out of space, remember that now you can purchase and connect an external USB hard drive of up to 2TB to save Xbox 360 games.
