Microsoft has released the Windows 11 Insider Preview Quality Update (26220.8764) for version 25H2 via the Beta experience in the Windows Insider Program. This flight introduces various fixes as part of the Windows K2 initiative and a new policy for smart cards.
According to the official notes, Windows 11 build 26220.8764 is testing a new unified Windows Update experience that coordinates driver, .NET, and firmware updates with monthly quality updates to reduce the number of restarts users see each month. The goal is to streamline the update process so that users eventually only need a single monthly reboot.
In addition, Voice Access is also gaining support for more languages, including Portuguese (Portugal), Portuguese (Brazil), and Korean (South Korea), expanding Windows 11’s built-in voice control capabilities to more users.
In addition, Microsoft improved Mongolian Baiti font shaping and rendering to deliver more accurate and consistent text output for the Mongolian script.
