  • Windows 11 build 27950 is now available in the Canary Channel, featuring fixes, small updates, and some known issues.
  • This preview doesn’t include any new features or significant improvements.

Microsoft is now rolling out Windows 11 build 27950 in the Canary Channel through the Windows Insider Program. This update is not tied to any specific version of the operating system and doesn’t include any new features. It only addresses fixes, small changes, and known issues.

According to the official changes, Windows 11 build 27950 introduces several undisclosed improvements for the overall experience, and the company notes that it’s bringing back the “For Developers” page in the Settings app until the new “Advanced” page is fixed.

The company is also noting several fixes in this preview, including:

  • General: Fixed a rollback issue during build installation that triggered errors 0xC1900101-0x20017 or 0xC1900101-0x30017.
  • Taskbar: Resolved a bug where taskbar app previews could appear misaligned after changing display resolution.
  • File Explorer: Fixed an issue where interacting with the context menu could cause the File Explorer window to become unresponsive to clicks. Addressed a bug causing certain apps to hang when launching the Open or Save dialog. Also, resolved a glitch where right-clicking could cause the context menu to flicker between the default view and “Show more options,” depending on installed apps.
  • Graphics: Fixed a screen flickering issue affecting browser usage and other scenarios.
  • Audio: Audio issues following recent updates should now be resolved.
  • Dynamic Lighting: Fixed a bug where the Dynamic Lighting Background Controller could consume excessive processor resources after the device was unlocked.
  • Gaming: Improved performance when gaming with overlays with the Game Bar, especially on setups with multiple monitors running different refresh rates.

As part of the known issues, Microsoft notes that Blue Screen of Death errors with the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL message for ARM64 devices, and PIX on Windows is unable to playback GPU captures on this version.

Furthermore, Microsoft recently released build 27943 in the Canary Channel, which included some general improvements and fixes for the Taskbar, graphics, encryption, and authentication.
