- Windows 11 builds 27975 and 27971 are now available in the Canary Channel with fixes and small changes.
- Aside from the Notification Center secondary support, there are no additional significant changes in these flights.
Microsoft is now rolling out Windows 11 build 27975 to the Windows Insider Program Canary Channel. This is a small update that only brings fixes and general improvements to the channel, not tied to any version of the operating system.
In addition, the company recently released build 27971, which, in addition to several fixes, introduced support for accessing the Notification Center on secondary monitors.
According to the official changes, build 27975 for Windows 11 fixes a launch reliability issue with the touch keyboard, Windows Hello PIN not working on this channel, and a Settings app crash when accessing Storage settings.
For known issues, the Start menu may experience unexpected scrolling to the top, and sleep and shutdown may not work correctly in this flight
In build 27971, the company introduced support for opening the Notification Center flyout from secondary monitors by clicking the date and time area in the System Tray on the monitor you want to open it.
In addition, in the Settings app, specifically on the “Date & time” page, you can now turn on “Show time in Notification Center” to display a clock with seconds in the flyout.
As part of the fixes, Windows 11 build 27971 rolled out a patch to prevent File Explorer from crashing. It also fixed media controls in the Lock screen, which were not displaying, and resolved issues with the microsoft.ink.dll and relevant APIs, which could result in pen and handwriting not working correctly.
Other fixes included resolving issues with playing protected content and with starting Hyper-V virtual machines with a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) on ARM64 devices.
