Microsoft has released the Windows 11 Insider Preview Quality Update (29661) for the Feature Platforms version in the Windows Insider Program. This flight introduces fixes as part of the Windows K2 initiative.
According to the official notes, the biggest change for Windows 11 build 29661 is that IAKerb is now enabled by default on Windows 11 clients. The Kerberos extension lets authentication work when a direct connection to a domain controller isn’t available, reducing reliance on the older NTLM authentication protocol.
The build also fixes several mouse and pointer issues, including a problem that caused the cursor to blink repeatedly, disappear in some apps, or ignore the pointer-speed setting in Settings.
Microsoft also fixed a Windows Update issue that prevented some Insiders from installing newer builds and caused error 0x80070005.

To download and install these Windows 11 builds, enroll your Devices in the Experimental channel for the Future Platforms version through the “Windows Insider Program” settings from the “Update & Security” section. Once you enroll the computer in the program, you can download the build from the “Windows Update” settings by turning on the “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” option and clicking the “Check for Updates” button.
