If your Windows 10 computer is connected using a Microsoft account, it’s now possible to see the hard drive usage as well as the available space from your Microsoft account dashboard.

Even better, you can check the details of all the hard drives from all your computers linked to your Microsoft account, and you can do this remotely, even if the devices are offline.

In this guide, you’ll learn the steps to check the storage information of your computer running Windows 10 from your Microsoft account.

How to see hard drive usage from a Microsoft account

If you want to see how much storage is left on your Windows 10 device, you can quickly check this information from your Microsoft account. Here’s how:

  1. Open your Microsoft account.

  2. Click on Devices.

Once you’ve completed the steps, you’ll have an idea of the storage capacity as well as available space on your device. If you want to check the storage capacity details of other computers linked to your Microsoft account, simply click the Show details button from the “Devices” section in your account.

The best part about this method is that your computer doesn’t even needs to be online, and you can check this information from anywhere.

Also, note that within the device details page, you can find out if your computer is out of date, and you can view the current health report, including information about the antivirus, firewall, and security for apps.

Of course, as always, you can use the Storage sense settings page to check hard drive details and to see what’s taking up the space to have a better understanding on how to start deleting files to free up storage.
