UPDATED 10/1/2024: On Windows 11, if you want to check whether version 24H2 is already installed on your computer, the system provides at least two ways to do this, and in this guide, I’ll show you how. Although the operating system should show a welcome experience after an upgrade, letting you know of the new changes, this rarely happens and doesn’t tell you the version number. You will only receive a short overview of the new changes.
In 2024, the feature update is known as version 24H2 (also referred to as the Windows 11 2024 Update), which reflects the year (24) and part of the year (H2 or half two) that indicates when the company plans to roll it out.
If you want to confirm that Windows 11 24H2 is installed on your device, you can use the “winver” command and the “About” settings page.
It’s important to note that the feature update started rolling out on October 1, 2024. On June 18, 2024, the new version was only available for new Copilot+ PCs.
