How to disable membership auto-renewal on Amazon Prime

Amazon makes it confusing, but you can disable auto-renew for your Amazon Prime membership, and here's how.

You can stop Amazon from renewing your Prime membership automatically, and in this guide, we’ll show you how. When you enroll in the Amazon Prime membership, the majority of people will use the option to renew the plan automatically every year or every month because it’s convenient. However, it might come the time when you no longer need the service, or you want to end the service to, later on, redeem a Prime gift card.

Whatever the reason it might be, Amazon doesn’t make it easy, but not impossible, to disable the auto-renewal option for Amazon Prime. Technically, you need to cancel the membership, and then you can keep using Prime for the remaining time.

If you have a concern about your Amazon Prime membership, it’s best to contact support instead of trying to change the settings.

In this guide, you will learn the steps to turn off Amazon’s automatic renewal of your Prime membership.

  6. Click the Continue to cancel button.

Once you complete the steps, your membership will continue to be available for the remaining time. If you have any issues, it’s best to contact Amazon support for additional assistance.

On your phone, open the Amazon app, tap the main menu button, tap on Account, tap on Manage Prime Membership, tap on Manage membership, tap on Manage Membership again, and select the End membership button.
