On Windows 11 22H2, you can now enable an early preview of the new Energy Recommendations settings.

Microsoft seems to be experimenting with changes for the Settings app to help users save energy and, at the same time, lower their carbon footprint. The new settings are still under development and hidden from users. However, if you want to check them out before they’re officially available (via PhantomOcean3), you can use a third-party tool known as “ViVeTool” to enable the new experience on build 25231 and higher releases of Windows 11.

Once you enable the settings, they will be available in Settings > System > Power & battery > Energy Recommendations. The page shows serval recommendations to lower energy consumption, such as lowering the time to turn off the screen, changing the power mode, disabling the screen saver, and enabling dark mode. If any of these features are already configured correctly, they will have a green check mark. Also, you will find a button in the top right to apply all the energy recommendations.

This guide will teach you the steps to enable the new energy-saver settings on Windows 11.
