Microsoft rolls out important Windows 8.1 patch to fix mouse lagging during PC gameplay. If you remember short after the company released Windows 8.1 many complaints started to emerge from gamers who noticed an unacceptable amount of lag between PC games and certain mice. According to the company, this happened because of the improvements included in the operating system to better handle DPI in multi-monitor setup.
Now the software giant has responded to the matter and in the support website (source link), Windows 8.1 users can download the new patch described as KB2908279 to stop mouse pointer stutters or freezes.
The Windows 8.1 patch is available for the 32-bit, 64-bit, and for Windows Server 2012 R2 version of the operating system. According to the company KB2908279 fixes the mouse lag in the following games:

- Call of Duty: Black Ops – Multiplayer
- Call of Duty: Black Ops II
- Call of Duty: Black Ops II – Multiplayer
- Call of Duty: Black Ops II – Zombies

- Call of Duty: MW2 – Multiplayer
