Surface Laptop, Book, Pro, Pro 3 October 2017 firmware update changelog

A new wave of firmware updates now rolling out for Surface devices, and Surface Pro and Surface Laptop are getting Windows Mixed Reality support.

Surface Pro (2017)

Microsoft is now rolling out a number of firmware updates for its most popular Surface devices, including for Surface Laptop, Surface Book, Surface Pro, and Surface Pro 3.

Although this October 2017 firmware updates are mostly to update address issues and improve the stability on the Surface line, the Surface Laptop and Surface Pro are getting Windows Mixed Reality support after installing the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.

Here’s the list with the changes included in this wave of firmware updates.

Surface Laptop update released on Oct. 18, 2017

  • Marvell AVASTAR Bluetooth Radio Adapter – Bluetooth: 15.68.9120.47 required to support Windows Mixed Reality features.
  • Intel HD Graphics 620 – Display adapters: 22.20.16.4749 required to support Windows Mixed Reality features.
  • Surface Keyboard – Firmware: 135.1713.0.0 improves keyboard safe-mode experience.
  • Surface System Aggregator – Firmware: 135.1704.1.0 improves system stability.
  • Surface Trackpad – Firmware: 2.122.2683.0.0 Improves two-finger scrolling.
  • Surface UEFI – Firmware: 136.1736.769.0 improves system stability.
  • Surface Dock Integration – Human Interface Devices: 1.0.6.0 Improves Surface Dock stability.
  • Marvell AVASTAR Wireless – AC Network Controller – Network adapters: 15.68.9120.47 required to support Windows Mixed Reality features.
  • Intel Display Audio – Sound, video and game controller: 10.22.1.100 required to support Windows Mixed Reality features.
  • Surface Storage Firmware Update – System device: 1.1.1199.0 improves system stability.
  • Surface Integration Service Device – System device: 1.0.801.0 improves system stability.
  • Surface Integration – System device: 2.0.535.0 improves keyboard safe-mode experience.
  • Surface Dock Firmware Update – System device: 1.2.6.0 Improves Surface Dock update installation and DisplayPort stability.

Surface Pro update released on Oct. 18, 2017

  • Marvell AVASTAR Bluetooth Radio Adapter – Bluetooth: 15.68.9120.47 required to support Windows Mixed Reality features.
  • Intel HD Graphics 620 – Display adapters: 22.20.16.4749 required to support Windows Mixed Reality features.
  • Intel Precise Touch Device – Human Interface Devices: 1.2.0.92 improves battery life by disabling touch while TypeCover lid is closed.
  • Marvell AVASTAR Wireless – AC Network Controller – Network adapters: 15.68.9120.47 required to support Windows Mixed Reality features.
  • Intel Display Audio – Sound, video and game controller: 10.22.1.100 required to support Windows Mixed Reality features.

Surface Pro 3 update released on Oct. 17, 2017

  • Realtek High Definition Audio – Sound, video and game controllers: 6.0.1.8125 improves battery life while device is in Connected Standby.
  • Realtek USB 3.0 Card Reader – Universal Serial Bus controllers: 10.0.15063.31236 improves battery life while device is in Connected Standby.

Surface Book update released on Oct. 18, 2017

  • Surface Integration – System device: 1.1.333.0 enables Power Slider feature that improves both battery life and the adaptive brightness feature.

The new October 2017 firmware update for Surface devices should download and install automatically. However, if you have not received the update on your Surface, then go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and try to force the download manually.
