Windows 10 build 14342 fixes and known issues

Microsoft delivers build 14342 for the PC version of Windows 10 with a big list of fixes and a few known issues.

Windows 10 build 14342 is now rolling out through the Fast ring of updates. The new preview that Insiders are receiving is focus on improving Microsoft Edge, Bash on Ubuntu, and other areas of the other operating system.

In addition, the company is listing a large number of bug fixes on build 14342, as well as several known issues that users should be aware before installing the latest version of Windows 10.

Here are the most important fixes and known issues for build 14342.

Fixes for Windows 10 build 14342

  • Fixed issues blocking the Desktop App Converter Preview (Project Centennial). Now the converter works on Enterprise as well as the Pro edition of Windows 10.
  • Fixed 0x8004C029 or 0x8004C503 errors with DRM-protected content on apps.
  • Fixed audio crashes for users who play audio to a receiver over S/PDIF or HDMI, and use a driver that supports real-time encoding via technologies like Dolby Digital Live or DTS Connect.
  • Fixed issue where background audio tasks might show up in the volume controls.
  • Fixed problem that may display Windows Hello messages when already logged in.
  • Fixed issue opening links with URL longer than 260 characters on apps.
  • Fixed a number of keyboard shortcuts not working on Universal Windows Platform apps. For example, CTRL + C, CTRL + V, and ALT + Space.
  • Fixed Clock and Calendar flyout time format not displaying correctly, and flyout didn’t dismissed when clicking the date and time in the taskbar a second time.
  • Fixed an issue causing the search box on the Language Settings page to not work.
  • User Account Control dialog now support pasting credentials.
  • Updated icons on the Settings app.
  • Improved animation invoking Cortana on the Lock screen.
  • Action Center gets tweaked and issue with taskbar icon on high-DPI display gets resolved.
  • Set location notification now works as expected.

Known issues for Windows 10 build 14342

  • Feedback Hub app will only load on English (US) and it could take up to 30 minutes after updating to this build to populate the content.
  • Symantec products like Norton Antivirus is causing problems and even blue screen of death.
  • On non-English keyboard, you can’t accept Bash prompts.
  • In certain languages, the All apps list will appear empty.
  • Issues with emoji not displaying correctly.
